How long have you been designing web sites?

I started developing websites in 1998 while attending Hawaii Pacific University. I started SBNETsolutions in 2005 while attending NEIT to cater to small and home based businesses.

What languages do you use for your projects?

I use a combination of languages, primarily xhtml, Javascript, PHP and ASP.net. Using these languages allows me to create a more dynamic website. For data base design, Ii prefer to use My Sql, but will also use MS Sql server.

What kind of sites do you design?

Primarily I am involved in designing promotional and e-commerce sites for home based, small and medium sized business. I also work with non-profit organizations and individual projects.

How do you guard against a server crash and data loss?

All current project files are backed up locally with redundant dual back up systems.

Project Design Cost and Payment

How long will it take to complete my project?

The time to complete a project depends upon the size of the project. Small projects may be completed in a week or two, while large projects can sometimes take as long as 6 months.

How much will my project cost?

Cost depends upon the size and complexity of the project. I have had projects that cost as little as $500 and as much as $6000. A basic website will cost less than a large and complex e-commerce site.

How and when do I pay you?

A contracted project generally requires 1/2 of the project fee when the contract is signed, with the balance due at the completion of the project. For services that are billed hourly, a statement will be sent to you at the end of each month, either by email or by USPS if you prefer.

Payments can be made to me by check for the time being. Credit Cards will be accepted in the near future.

What is the difference between a contracted project and hourly billing for services?

A contracted project generally refers to a new original project or a new redesign project for a new client or an established client that needs a new project.

Hourly billing refers to any maintenance to existing projects that is not covered by a pre-paid maintenance plan. In general, SBNETsolutions will not perform maintenance on projects we have not designed.

Domain Names and Hosting

What is a domain name?

A domain names is used to direct a computers browser to a web site. In website http://www.SBNETsolutions.com, the domain name is SBNETsolutions.com. The most common endings for domain names are .com, .net and .org although there are others available. These names can be "purchased" through many online services for a period of 1 to ten years and must be renewed at the end of the selected time.

How much does a domain name cost?

SBNETsolutions will register one domain name free for each new project contracted. The domain name registration will expire one year from the date of registration. The client will be required to renew the domain name registration before the one year time period has elapsed at a cost of $15.

Who owns the domain name?

You own the name. We will manage the name and any sub-domain names you have.

Can I arrange my own hosting?

Yes, although most clients prefer to have SBNETsolutions arrange and manage their hosting, you are more than welcome to make your own arrangements. You will need to provide SBNETsolutions with the necessary information to allow access to your hosting service. You will also need to ensure that the service you arrange is compatible with the projects design.

What's included in your hosting service?

SBNETsolutions will set up your site on the host server. You will be given you access to your web stats. We will create any email accounts you require and handle technical support issues as needed. For web hosting cost go to web hosting.
