What is a domain name?

A domain names is used to direct a computers browser to a web site. In website http://www.msadesigns.com, the domain name is msadesigns.com. The most common endings for domain names are .com, .net and .org although there are others available. These names can be "purchased" through many online services for a period of 1 to ten years and must be renewed at the end of the selected time.

Who owns the domain name?

You own the name. MSA Design Group will manage the name and any sub-domain names you have.

Can I arrange my own hosting?

Yes, although most clients prefer to have MSA Design Group arrange and manage their hosting, you are more than welcome to make your own arrangements. You will need to provide MSA Design Group with the necessary information to allow access to your hosting service. You will also need to ensure that the service you arrange is compatible with the projects design.

What's included in your hosting service?

MSA Design Group will set up your site on the host server. You will be given access to your web stats. We will create any email accounts you require and handle technical support issues as needed. For web hosting cost go to web hosting.

Where are your sites hosted?

All web projects hosted by MSA Design Group are done through Brinkster.com

What languages do you use for your projects?

MSA Design Group uses a combination of languages, primarily xhtml, javascript, php and asp.net. Using these languages allows us to create a more dynamic website. For data base design, our group prefers to use My Sql, but will also use MS Sql server.

What services do you offer?

Website design and redesign, content management systems, search engine optimization, domain name registration, web hosting and web maintenance. MSA Design Group also offers consulting services to businesses interested in a web project.

How do you guard against a server crash and data loss?

All of our current project files are backed up locally with redundant dual back up systems.

How long will it take to complete my project?

The time to complete a project depends upon the size of the project. Small projects may be completed in a week or two, while large and complex projects can sometimes take as long as 6 months.

How much will my project cost?

Cost depends upon the size and complexity of the project.

How and when do I pay you?

A contracted project requires 1/3 of the project fee when the contract is signed, with the balance due on or before completion of the project. For services that are billed hourly, a statement will be sent to you at the end of each month via email. Payments may be made by check or through PayPal.
